Dear Sisters and Friends,

For the last couple of months my Circle has been discussing the history of the Church, particularly sharing experiences of the Saints of old.  This got me to thinking about my testimony.

I tried to go back to the very first time I became aware of God’s importance in my life.  I was maybe three or four years old and I was plagued with ear infections.  I will now give away my age. I was a child before the age of tubes in the ears to clear up these issues.  Warm oil was the only medication I recall for the pain.

It seemed to me that every winter night I had an earache.  When I was unable to sleep, my mother would hold me on her lap and rock me until I could drift off to sleep.  What she would tell me as we sat in the dark and the rest of the house slept was that God loved me and He would take care of me.  I have never forgotten those words and I know with certainty that God does take care of us if we believe in His power.  Amazingly, all those ear infections did not diminish my hearing one bit.  At work they talk about my bionic hearing.

Here is my assignment for you (remember, I am trained as a teacher).  I would like you to write a little testimony regarding the first time you remember having a personal experience with God.  Email them to me at president@generalladiescircle.org.  I will then combine a few at a time and submit them to the blog for posting.

Based on the blessings we have had with the history of brothers and sisters in the church, I know that reading each other’s experiences will strengthen our own testimonies of the goodness of our God.

Waiting to hear from you,
