This is an exciting summer for The Church of Jesus Christ and the Ladies’ Uplift Circle. In a few weeks many of us will gather in Illinois for a World Conference and this summer a new Circle will be organized. In addition, the General Circle will be providing you with the guidelines of a Little Ladies’ Circle intended to instill the love of the circle in our youngest supporters. A brother said in Church this morning, “The spirit of God within us is a treasure.” I may have heard that many times in my life, but today it struck me with such power and joy. I do feel that I possess a treasure and I hope that you feel the same.
We are blessed to have a personal relationship with Christ. We are blessed to have close relationships with our sisters in Circle. All of these blessings come from the spirit of God within us, that priceless treasure given to us.
A few months ago a Task Force met at the Church’s World Operations Center to discuss, among other things, strategies to increase interest in the Circle. Organizing and reorganizing Circles is the answer to our prayers. I am sure additional workers will bring a special blessing to the missionary work of the Church in general, as well as within their own communities. It is our desire, as stated in our Circle Aims, “to attract nonmembers to the Church and to provide wholesome, beneficial study of God’s Word and opportunities for meaningful service”.
Think about how you can be more involved in your Circle and provide for the needs of those we serve, so that others may enjoy the spirit of God, which is truly our treasure.
